Tips To Keep In Mind In Order To Dress With Rodeo Western Wear

By Carl Taylor

The term western is usually associated with old cowboy movies and culturally insensitive tropes that the world has moved on from. However, as the world has moved on from this, it has taken with it some of the ideas that were around them and these ideas cannot be any more evident than when it comes to fashion. Although it has been modernized, rodeo western wear has not changed much.

Furthermore, the lack of free space for people to roam around and herd large amounts of cattle has been a change that s a result of modernization but to compensate for that there is the rodeo. A place filled with challenges of its own that are the best adrenaline rush for the modern day westerner.

And not just a mere fashion statement as it has become now. Just as popular as the hat, the biggest distinguishing factor is the American blue jeans. An item of clothing that became as popular and used as frequently as the miners who popularised it due to the durability of the materials.

For example, the boots play a big role in style but comfort too. For me, the best recommendation, even for those individuals who have no clue on what they re doing is to pick what is known as a square-toed boot with what is known as a walking heel. The reason being is that one will be able to last in them for longer without the pain that accompanies choosing the wrong boot or a heel that s a little bit too high.

The shirt, like any other shirt has the main purpose of covering the upper half of the body but unlike any other shirt. Shorts of this era have a distinctive design. A design that makes them uniquely western and how one can tell that this particular shirt is from that 1940 s and 50 s period and not just any other shirt are through the embroidery that is usually along the back or on the front, just under where one s shoulder plates would be.

Last but not least, what is a cowboy or cowgirl without their hat. The signature staple of what makes the entire culture as recognizable as it is today. That, and a horse. The hat itself has to have distinct features in order for it to be classified as such. It needs to be high crowned and wide-brimmed. A lack of these two features and it is just a hat with nothing special about it.

Depending on the weather one has the option of dressing in a short-sleeved shirt or a long-sleeved shirt accordingly. And a nice leather or jean coat doesn t hurt either.

Regardless of what one wears, the intention is to have fun, whether they re with their friends or family or with a beer or two, It s all about having fun.
