Theater Makeup Is Vital In Having A Successful Theatre Company

By Jerry Patterson

A successful production is defined on how actors convince the multitude through their acting prowess. The facade of the stage must also suspend the disbelief of the multitude by making them feel like they are living in the place and time when the story is set. However, the aforementioned factors of a successful production are not the only ones in existence. Theater Makeup is also among them. The actor must not only act the part but look the part, as well.

Actors transform themselves, with the help of makeup, into a younger version of themselves or into an older version. They can become the different gender or even become a different specie. This does not only convince the audience, but also helps the actor in convincing oneself that the actor is not the person who he or she originally is.

Stage makeup can be used for many purposes. For one, they can hide facial imperfections of the actor for them to look fresh on stage. Another is to provide a deeper impact to the audience by intensifying the dramatic effect of the production to the audience.

Standing ovations can also result from choosing the right show or production you have. The director and writers would have to spend long hours on making the production a successful one. Therefore, they would have to choose the one that they are passionate to tell about or the story that they love to impart to people.

The decorators must also be meticulous in the designs and must be well informed about the era where the story is set in. This includes the lights, the sounds, props and the costumes of the actors. The director must have brainstorming sessions with the decorators for the designs to convince that the attendees are witnessing happenings from the past or on the future.

The director should also keep a schedule in the making of the production. Anything can happen during the preparation that might cause delay and may result in unsatisfied customers who have already bought the tickets. One should establish a calendar that should be distributed to everyone that is involved.

The calendar of events must be respected by the director and the staff should have the same conviction, as well. Also, every rehearsal should begin exactly on the time it is planned and end exactly on time. For time not be wasted, every person should maintain focus and must actively participate even during scenes which their parts are not included.

The directors should also choose the right actor for the part. Set up as many auditions as you can just so you can find the perfect person to portray the part. It is important as well to get individuals behind the stage that are trustworthy and diligent in their work.

A play is a form of art that captivates the heart of everyone present. The impact of theatre is must more deep that the impact of movies and television. Due to its unique impact to people, it will never be irrelevant in the years to come.
